Evaluation of Applications
The evaluation of applicants is carried out in three phases, separately for each Specialization.
- The first phase is of a preliminary nature. The prerequisite for moving on to the second phase is the submission of all required qualifications and the certification of competency in English at level B2.
- The evaluation criteria of the second phase and the corresponding maximum scores, in a 0..100 scale, are:
Ι) Grade Point Average of first degree (Weighting Factor: 50%). The GPA of the first degree will be multiplied with the corresponding factor (50%) and with the corresponding relevance index. Relevant indices are determined according to the Department that awarded the first degree and are as follows:
SPECIALIZATION IN COMPUTER SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
a) relevance index 1: graduates of University Departments: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science Department in Technological Educational Institutes
b) relevance index 0,7: graduates of University Departments in Faculties of Science and Schools of Engineering (except for Computer Engineering), or Departments of Electrical Engineering or Automation of Technological Educational Institutes)
c) relevance index 0,3: graduates of University Departments in Economics, Management or the corresponding departments inTechnological Educational Institutes.
SPECIALIZATION IN BUSINESS COMPUTING
a) relevance index 1: all admitted graduates from Universities or Technological Educational Institutes obtain a relevance index equal to 1.
All aforementioned relevant indices of the departments of origin hold for the candidates with a corresponding degree from Military Academies in Greece or abroad on the condition (for the latter) that they hold an equivalence certification granted by DIKATSA/DOATAP.
ΙΙ) Competency in English (Weighting Factor 10%). This factor will be multiplied with the corresponding level index. Level indices are determined according to the level of knowledge of the english language, as proved by the corresponding qualifications (independently from the date that the qualification has been obtained) and are as follows:
a) level index 1: Mastery or proficiency (Γ2/C2), TOEFL >94
b) level index 0,7: Effective Operational Proficiency or advanced (Γ1/C1), TOEFL 85-93
ΙΙΙ) Research experience of the candidate (Weighting Factor 15%).
IV) Relevant professional experience (Weighting Factor 10%).
The aggregate weighting factor in the second phase is 85%.
- The third phase consists in an interview (Weighting Factor 15%) by at least two faculty members of the Department (designated by the Department's General Assembly). In each specialization the highest ranked candidates will be interviewed (the number of candidates to be interviewed is equal to the number of admitted students in each specialization, increased by 50%).
